They&#8217;re not the same birds, of course, but each year a few new ones appear, the &#8216;cast&#8217; evolves &#8211; but it&#8217;s still about a half a dozen that hang together as one flock. They spend their time poking around for seeds and bugs, staying together for safety, but each morning after I fill the tray feeder they&#8217;re on it instantly, dodging squirrels and the bigger varied thrushes.
