Cache River National Wildlife Refuge

Cache River National Wildlife Refuge is in Arkansas. I have a history here. When I was 5 or 6, Virginia took me on a field trip here to find one of the last Ivory-billed Woodpeckers for an Audubon magazine story she was doing. We didn’t find the bird, but now, decades later, there is evidence it still exists. There’s one in the painting. Installation is in the refuge visitor center.
