2026-10-5 Small Paintings

Some new small paintings of some of my favorite painting models, the wildlife in our little meadow here on the Olympic Peninsula. These are all originals on canvas, framed as shown and available on my Eifert Gallery on Etsy.

The first painting (above) is of a cocky little downy woodpecker that has found the big red-alder that recently died of old age. The bark is falling off, a perfect woodpecker tree. Some of the square pileated holes are huge, but this little guy was more dainty about it. This painting is 9″x12″ with a bigger frame as you see it. https://eifertgallery.etsy.com/listing/4591290008/downy-woodpecker-larry-eifert

Swainson’s Thrush portrait, painted from a this little guy who was taking a bath in our little pond. I get such joy from that little bit of water. 5″ x 7″ on canvas, framed as you see it and freight free. https://eifertgallery.etsy.com/listing/4576604599/swainsons-thrush-portrait-larry-eifert

And two more little studies, acrylic on canvas, a chestnut-backed chickadee moving through the mossy branches here. 5″x7″ on canvas board, framed and available on my web gallery store. https://eifertgallery.etsy.com/listing/4590050387/chestnut-backed-chickadee-larry-eifert

And this savannah sparrow I saw at the boat yard in town. I originally thought it was a song sparrow, but then saw the yellow on its head. It was sitting on a dried fennel stalk – see the stalk’s joints? Savannah’s are cousins to song sparrows, same delightful voice. This is 5″x7″ on canvas board, framed and freight free. https://eifertgallery.etsy.com/listing/4578778921/savannah-sparrow-larry-eifert
